At CK Massage we know that everybody is different so why should everybody receive the same massage? Because we understand this all of our hot stone massages are tailored to you and your needs on the day of treatment.
Which can be slightly different to hot stone treatment you might expect in a spa – in that we use to stones to massage your body in a dynamic way not just passively lie them on your back!
We incorporate the hot stones into remedial and sports massage treatments giving you the amazing benefits of a combining the best elements from all massage genres.
The volcanic basalt stones are heated in a warm water bath, dried off before tucking them under or placing them on top of your body. A stone might be placed on your low back, legs and palms of your hands. A natural beeswax is massaged into your skin and then the stones are used to heat and massage your muscles and areas of tension.
The heat encourages increased blood flow and feels incredibly relaxing – this allows the therapists to massage deeply using the stones without the sensation of digging into your muscles.
Sometimes cold stones are also used depending on the result the client wants. The cold stones stem the flow of blood, numbs sore areas and can be used in combination with the heat to stimulate blood flow to particular areas.
Cold stones feel refreshing when incorporated into a facial treatment and so beneficial to condition such as RSI’s and swollen ankles.
